Me:\u00a0 Howdy Prodigal!\u00a0 Who are you with today, they all look a lot alike.<\/p>\n

Prodigal:\u00a0 This here is the duck family.\u00a0 They do look the same but still they are a little different.\u00a0 They wanted to hear one of your stories.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Me:\u00a0 Well today we have words from Chuck Swindoll in his book Hope Again When Life Hurts and Dreams Fade.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

A unit is a team, folks.\u00a0 No more brother-bashing.\u00a0 No more sister-smashing.\u00a0 No more ugly gossip groups.\u00a0 No more sarcastic, judgmental put downs.\u00a0 Jesus prayed that we would support and encourage and love and forgive each other until we are perfected into a unit.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Unity.\u00a0 That’s what He desires for us.\u00a0 Not uniformity, but unity; oneness, not sameness.\u00a0 We don’t have to look alike.\u00a0 We don’t even have to think alike.\u00a0 The body is made up of many different parts.\u00a0 He doesn’t even pray for unanimity.\u00a0 We can disagree.\u00a0 Every vote doesn’t have to be 100 percent.\u00a0 But we must be a unit:\u00a0 our eyes on the same goal, our hearts in the same place, our commitment at the same level.\u00a0 And we must love each other.<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Guess what I am a little different than you and God loves that!\u00a0 We can love each other, follow Jesus and still not vote the same way.\u00a0 Nobody should be just like me (Jesus made sure I wasn’t a twin for a reason).<\/p>\n

I am encouraged when I can be myself even if that means I am the only girl within a 10 mile radius checking the scores to the game.\u00a0 God wants you to feel comfortable if you are rolling your eyes and having no interest in the sports score that I am checking every five minutes.\u00a0 We can still follow Jesus and we can still encourage each other!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

John 13:34-35<\/p>\n

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.\u00a0 By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.<\/p>\n
