{"id":1527,"date":"2016-01-10T20:17:29","date_gmt":"2016-01-10T20:17:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.theprodigalpig.com\/?p=1527"},"modified":"2016-01-10T23:39:34","modified_gmt":"2016-01-10T23:39:34","slug":"faith-in-love","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.theprodigalpig.com\/?p=1527","title":{"rendered":"Faith In Love"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.theprodigalpig.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/12-30-15-134.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1454\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1454\" src=\"http:\/\/www.theprodigalpig.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/12-30-15-134-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"12-30-15 134\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.theprodigalpig.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/12-30-15-134-225x300.jpg 225w, http:\/\/www.theprodigalpig.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/12-30-15-134-768x1024.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Me:\u00a0 Prodigal, that looks like a delicious, wonderful supper you are having!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Prodigal:\u00a0 Trust me, it is wonderful!\u00a0 Since I am busy enjoying this food, why don&#8217;t you share a story.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Well today I wanted to share from someone who is not well known and not that published.\u00a0 It is a story from Jennifer Van Allen from her life of One Day at a Time.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jennifer woke up on Sunday morning, feeling like she had no sleep.\u00a0 She had a cough that had been bothering her and really was keeping her up at night.\u00a0 Plus someone really needed to share some important emotions that she loves a lot and so she stayed up really late just letting that person know that she loves them.\u00a0 Jennifer was of course scheduled to help take care of three years old during church service and then help out with four year old during the bible study time after church.\u00a0 As she was getting ready, the cough seemed to increase.\u00a0 She went to church and approached April who runs the children&#8217;s program and April wonderfully said that she would find others to cover.\u00a0 So what did Jennifer do next?\u00a0 She went to the church service that she was scheduled to miss that day.<\/p>\n<p>Jennifer listened to the sermon that was prepared by her pastor Justin.\u00a0 There was a lot in the sermon that day that seemed to speak to her heart.\u00a0 Justin then spoke one short phrase.\u00a0 As soon as Jennifer heard it, it seemed to just speak to her spirit.\u00a0 Then Justin repeated it again.\u00a0 Now hours later this phrase will not leave Jennifer&#8217;s spirit.\u00a0 It seems God is trying to give Jennifer direction and it starts with this phrase FAITH IN LOVE.<\/p>\n<p>See unknown to most.\u00a0 God has already been working in Jennifer&#8217;s heart for about a month or so.\u00a0 This phrase seemed to demand even further work on her heart from what God had already been exposing.\u00a0 So then we take another turn in this story because it really started over the past couple of\u00a0 years.<\/p>\n<p>Jennifer had been hurt by a group of people and one person especially.\u00a0 So what did Jennifer do.\u00a0 She really prayed and looked for God to guide her with these hurts and relationships.<\/p>\n<p>God said forgive&#8230;&#8230;Jennifer forgave&#8230;over and over again.<\/p>\n<p>God said trust &#8230;..Jennifer trusted<\/p>\n<p>God said give grace&#8230;.Jennifer gave grace over and over again.<\/p>\n<p>God said love&#8230;&#8230;Jennifer loved over and over again.<\/p>\n<p>So what is God saying with Faith in LOVE?<\/p>\n<p>See slowly what had happened is God was working on small parts inside Jennifer that she needed to learn for her character to grow in Christ in order for her to move in the next season of her life.\u00a0 Now is time for the last part and that is FAITH In LOVE.<\/p>\n<p>See Jennifer is scared.\u00a0 She trusts God and loves God.\u00a0 This means though that she has to have FAITH and not FEAR in LOVE.\u00a0 Right now Jennifer is AFRAID IN LOVE.<\/p>\n<p>Jennifer has been loving at a distance.\u00a0 Jennifer has been loving with an escape plan.\u00a0 Jennifer has been loving with trying to protect herself and not get too close.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Jennifer has been remaining emotionally distant to protect herself.\u00a0 You can&#8217;t protect yourself and have faith at the same time.\u00a0 One will always replace the other.\u00a0 So FAITH in LOVE.\u00a0 It means not being afraid and protecting yourself but really opening yourself to give love and receive it.\u00a0 Now God has given Jennifer the direction.\u00a0 Jennifer has to be obedient in following God&#8217;s plan.\u00a0 So God once again is directing Jennifer\u00a0 to jump into this risky business that God seems to be sending her into.\u00a0 Is Jennifer willing to let the past be the past and move forward with grace with everything. Yes she is!<\/p>\n<p>Does Jennifer know how it will all work out.\u00a0 Of course she doesn&#8217;t.\u00a0 Does she have a plan.\u00a0 Of course she doesn&#8217;t.\u00a0 But Jennifer knows the one who does have the Plan!\u00a0 Jennifer plans to be checking in with Him regularly so He can tell her the direction to go.<\/p>\n<p>So Does God care for you and will HE keep pursuing you until you learn HIS TRUTHS and HIS LOVE.\u00a0 You bet He will!\u00a0 He might even involve a bunch of people in your story, who were once strangers,\u00a0 just so you can learn these truths.\u00a0 Imagine that&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>1 Corinthians 13:1-3<\/p>\n<p>If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
