Prodigal:\u00a0 Yeah, I do to and that is why I came over to take a look.<\/p>\n

Me:\u00a0 God was encouraging me with the moon the other day.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Prodigal:\u00a0 How was he doing that?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I was standing outside with friends on a Saturday night.\u00a0 There was a fire going\u00a0to\u00a0make some\u00a0smores and I already had two.\u00a0 I had to set myself a limit.\u00a0 Y’all know it is so easy to get carried away with smores!\u00a0 We were waiting for fireworks that were suppose to start at any minute.<\/p>\n

There was a loud noise and they had started and in the sky was bright beautiful colors right there in front of me.\u00a0 They were one right after another always delighting the eye in something different.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0My focus turned toward watching the fireworks and then I notice\u00a0to the left\u00a0was the moon and it was a full moon.\u00a0 As I gazed upon it hanging in the night sky, I saw that it really made it a wonderful night next to the fireworks.<\/p>\n

I starting thinking, the picture should be captured by a camera but I knew it would not capture the feeling of seeing it in front of me.\u00a0 Then I stopped as I started to look at the moon again.\u00a0 I thought.\u00a0 Wow, here are the fireworks, man’s creation and here is the moon God’s creation.<\/p>\n

The fireworks continued and then the final came and it was over.\u00a0 Those fireworks cost a lot of money.\u00a0 A lot of people helped make them, set them up and then deliver the show.\u00a0 It was nice, but then I looked at the moon again.\u00a0 It was always there, very consistent.\u00a0 The moon’s show was not over.<\/p>\n

The moon has been given\u00a0us a \u00a0show for thousands of years.\u00a0 Abraham of the Bible looked upon the moon.\u00a0 Jesus looked upon the moon when he was on earth.\u00a0 Then\u00a0the thought grew bright in my mind.\u00a0 That is the difference between building our lives upon God’s foundation and man’s foundation.\u00a0 Man’s way may look exciting at first.\u00a0 It can be entertaining but God’s foundation will stand forever.\u00a0 It will not be able to be stopped and it will\u00a0last.\u00a0 Where is your foundation?\u00a0 Is it very pretty but short lived standing on a brief firework show.\u00a0 Is it long lasting unable to move like the moon.<\/p>\n

Matthew 7:24-27<\/p>\n

Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock.\u00a0 Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock.\u00a0 But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand.\u00a0 When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.<\/p>\n
