Charles Swindoll in his book Living on the Ragged Edge states this.<\/p>\n

If I appear great in their eyes, the Lord is most graciously helping me to see how absolutely nothing I am without Him, and helping me to keep little in my own eyes.\u00a0 He does use me.\u00a0 But I am so concerned that He uses me and that it is not of me the work is done.\u00a0 The axe cannot boast of the trees it has cut down.\u00a0 It could do nothing but for the woodsman.\u00a0 He made it, he sharpened it, and he used it.\u00a0 The moment he throws it aside, it becomes only old iron.\u00a0 O that I may never lose sight of this.<\/strong><\/p>\n

O my Father in heaven who is my woodsman, remind me today as I go before your people that I am nothing but an axe.\u00a0 Please use me as an\u00a0axe and then throw me aside so that your people that you love only see the woodsman and only worship the woodsman.<\/p>\n
