Prodigal:\u00a0 I decided to go whole hog!<\/p>\n

Me:\u00a0 That is what you did my friend.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Our problem is that we think of ourselves as being at the center of our world.\u00a0 We think of our lives as a story and, if we’re Christians, God is one of the characters in our story.\u00a0 We look for him when we need him and expect him to be grateful when we serve him.\u00a0 He’s a lovely piece or our story, but we still think of it as our story.\u00a0 But it’s not our story.\u00a0 It’s God’s story.\u00a0 Of course there is a sense in which God is there for us.\u00a0 But the bigger reality is that we’re there for God.\u00a0 We exist to give him glory.\u00a0 He doesn’t owe us anything, not even explanations.\u00a0 Meanwhile, we owe him everything as our Creator and Redeemer.<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I am glad this is God’s story and not my own!\u00a0 May I continue to give God glory.<\/p>\n

Isaiah 10:20-23<\/p>\n

In that day the remnant of Israel and the survivors of the house of Jacob will no more lean on him who struck them, but will lean on the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.\u00a0 A remnant will return, the remnant of Jacob, to the mighty God.\u00a0 For though your people of Israel be as the sand of the sea, only a remnant of them will return.\u00a0 Destruction is decreed, overflowing with righteousness.\u00a0 For the Lord God of hosts will make a full end, as decreed in the midst of all the earth.<\/p>\n
