Prodigal: \u00a0It’s as dry as the heart of a haystack.<\/p>\n

Me: \u00a0Maybe rain will come soon.<\/p>\n

Prodigal: \u00a0Only the Lords knows.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In John 4, Jesus meets a Samaritan woman at a well at noon. \u00a0“Mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun,” \u00a0sang Noel Coward. \u00a0you gather water in the cool of early morning. \u00a0But she comes at midday to avoid the rest of the community because of the shame she feels. \u00a0After she’s met Jesus, however, she runs to the community she’s been avoiding and says, “Come, see a man who told me all that I ever did”. \u00a0The good news for her was that Jesus told her everything she had ever done and still offered her living water! \u00a0She no longer had to hide. \u00a0And it’s this testimony that draws the townspeople to Jesus. \u00a0We can confess our sin to one another because there’s no longer any need to hide. \u00a0Grace sets us free.<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

There is no need to hide. \u00a0We all have shame at times and still Jesus loves us and gives us living water anyway.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? \u00a0he that formed the eye, shall he not see?<\/p>\n
