Me:\u00a0 It is a good day to go to church!<\/p>\n

Prodigal:\u00a0 Yes, thank God for the churches we have around America.<\/p>\n

Me:\u00a0 That reminds me of one town’s first church.<\/p>\n

This is from the book\u00a0 The God Who Hung on the Cross by Dois Rosser Jr. and Ellen Vaughn<\/p>\n

In the village where we built one of the first churches, the Hindus had sneered at the Christians for\u00a0years.\u00a0 “If your God is so great,” they jeered, “why does He not even have a temple?”\u00a0 The Christians had explained that God’s temple dwells in human hearts, but still, they yearned for a physical place to gather as group and demonstrate that spiritual reality.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The day we dedicated that village church, a tattered old man grabbed my arm.\u00a0 Dr. Joshua translated as he spoke:\u00a0 “I prayed for twenty years,” he said, his dark face split by a huge grin.\u00a0 “I prayed that a church would come to our village.\u00a0 It would take a miracle for that to happen.\u00a0 And now here it is!”<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Don’t stop praying, even if it takes 20 years!\u00a0 An answered prayer from God is always worth waiting for.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Philippians 2:3<\/p>\n

Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.<\/p>\n
