Prodigal:\u00a0 So, this might be tougher to get out of then I thought.<\/p>\n

Me:\u00a0 I can support you, even if it takes a while.<\/p>\n

Prodigal:\u00a0 Thank you, that means a lot.<\/p>\n

There comes a time in everyone’s life when trouble and difficulties seem to gang up.\u00a0 When this happens–when life gets hard–what is the creative way to handle things?<\/p>\n

FIRST:\u00a0 Don’t try to do it all yourself.\u00a0 Do not struggle and fret.\u00a0 Do not strain and complain.\u00a0 Do all you can about things and then put everything into God’s hands, trusting Him to bring it out right.\u00a0 You can\u00a0 depend upon God.\u00a0 He will not fail you.\u00a0 Let go and let God.<\/p>\n

SECOND:\u00a0 Pray for guidance and believe that direction is now being given you.\u00a0 Believe this guidance can be trusted.\u00a0 Depend upon it, for it won’t fail you.<\/p>\n

THIRD:\u00a0 Pray for and practice a calm attitude.\u00a0 Disturbing things will remain disturbing as long as you are disturbed.\u00a0 But when you become peaceful, conditions will iron themselves out.\u00a0 You cannot think creatively when your mind is upset.\u00a0 Remember: upset minds upset; peaceful minds “peacefulize.”<\/p>\n

FOURTH:\u00a0 Saturate your consciousness with faith, the creative faith that things will turn our right.\u00a0 Say aloud every day several times:\u00a0 “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee” (Isa. 26:3).\u00a0 “In quietness and in confidence shall be your strength” (Isa. 30:15).\u00a0 “Peace unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.\u00a0 Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:27).<\/p>\n

FIFTH:\u00a0 Remind yourself of one great truth: hard experiences will pass away.\u00a0 They will yield.\u00a0 They can be changed.\u00a0 So just hold on, with God’s help.<\/p>\n

SIXTH:\u00a0 There is always a light in the darkness.\u00a0 Believe that.\u00a0 Look for that light.\u00a0 The light is the love of God.\u00a0 “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and light unto my path.” (Psalm 119:105).\u00a0 Go ahead into the darkness unafraid.<\/p>\n

SEVENTH:Ask the Lord to release your own creative ingenuity, your own strength and wisdom, which taken together can, for a fact, handle any problem successfully.<\/p>\n

EIGHTH:\u00a0 Never forget that God cares for you, that He loves you.\u00a0 \u00a0He wants to help you.\u00a0 Turn to Him, and gratefully accept His help.<\/p>\n

NINTH:\u00a0 Remember that all human beings experience troubles similar to your own.\u00a0 Many years ago a graduating class gave a stone bench to their university on which were graven these words:\u00a0 “To those who sit here sorrowing or rejoicing:\u00a0 greetings.\u00a0 So also did we in our time.”<\/p>\n

TENTH:\u00a0 Finally, hold on to this great promise:\u00a0 “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”\u00a0 \u00a0And this is the truth.\u00a0 God will see you through, and a brighter day will dawn for you.<\/p>\n

If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be:\u00a0 if any man serve me, him will my Father honor.<\/p>\n
