Me:\u00a0 That is a good place to start.<\/p>\n

Prodigal:\u00a0 Where do I go from here.<\/p>\n

Me:\u00a0 Maybe this will help.<\/p>\n

This is from the book Reaching for the Invisible God by Philip Yancey<\/p>\n

Indeed, I see many parallels between getting to know God and getting to know a human person.\u00a0 I first learn a person’s name.\u00a0 Something in his personality attracts me to him.\u00a0 I spend time with my new friend, learning what activities we have in common.\u00a0 I give gifts and make small sacrifices for that friend.\u00a0 I do things to please my friend that I wouldn’t do otherwise.\u00a0 I share happy times and sad times; we laugh together and weep together.\u00a0 I reveal my deepest secrets.\u00a0 I take risks of relationship.\u00a0 I make commitments.\u00a0 I fight and argue, then reconcile.\u00a0 All these stages of relationship apply to God as well.<\/p>\n

And this love, that we walk after his commandments.\u00a0 This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.<\/p>\n
