 <\/p>\n

LUKEWARM people love others but do not seek to love others as much as they love themselves.\u00a0 Their love of others is typically focused on those who love them in return, like family, friends, and other people they know and connect with.\u00a0 There is little love left over for those who cannot love them back, much less for those who intentionally slight them, whose kids are better athletes than theirs, or with whom conversations are awkward or uncomfortable.\u00a0 Their love is highly conditional and very selective, and generally comes with strings attached.<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

“You have heard that it was said, “Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.”\u00a0 But I tell you:\u00a0 \u00a0Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven.\u00a0 He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.\u00a0 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get?\u00a0 Are not even the tax collectors doing that?\u00a0 And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others?\u00a0 Do not even pagans do that?<\/p>\n
