Superficiality is the curse of our age.\u00a0 The doctrine of instant satisfaction is a primary spiritual problem.\u00a0 The desperate need today is not for a great number of intelligent people, or gifted people, but for deep people.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The classical Disciplines of the spiritual life call us to move beyond surface living in to the depths.\u00a0 They invite us to explore the inner caverns of the spiritual realm.\u00a0 They urge us to be the answer to a hollow world.\u00a0 John Woolman counsels, “It is good for thee to dwell deep, that thou mayest feel and understand the spirits of people.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Today don’t try to impress, or focus on numbers.\u00a0 Focus on the intimacy of a relationship with Christ, and how that brings about closer connections to people.\u00a0 You are not the most intelligent person, or the only gifted person.\u00a0 You are someone who does know the Lord.<\/p>\n

Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad.<\/p>\n
