Prodigal:\u00a0 Sometimes I feel confused.<\/p>\n

Me:\u00a0 \u00a0We all feel confused sometimes.<\/p>\n

Prodigal:\u00a0 Yes, just pray for me.<\/p>\n

Me:\u00a0 God’s spirit, and word will lift the confusion.<\/p>\n

Then the Spirit Surges<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. \u00a0Be Open:\u00a0 If you are upset by changes in your church, try looking at it from God’s point of view.\u00a0 His world has deteriorated in recent years.\u00a0 His church has often been ineffective.\u00a0 There has been an appalling upsurge of immorality.\u00a0 Might not the action of His Spirit bring a worldwide cleansing process?<\/li>\n
  2. Strive for Balance:\u00a0 One could easily become experience-centered, seeking a repeat of an original “high” and, often without realizing it, begin to worship the experience rather than the Lord Himself.\u00a0 The importance of understanding the Trinitarian basis of the Christian faith must be stressed.<\/li>\n
  3. The Holy Spirit is not Divisive:\u00a0 As someone once said, “The Holy Spirit is not divisive, but people divide over the Holy Spirit.”\u00a0 It is our frail humanity that causes us to be divisive–people with closed minds on both sides of an issue.\u00a0 Learn to evaluate other believers by the fruit of the Spirit evident in their lives (Ephesians 5:9).\u00a0 Focus first and foremost on “The Giver”–then on “The Gifts.”<\/li>\n
  4. Seek Content:\u00a0 There is a need for spiritual discipline in order that we might have growth in understanding God’s Word.<\/li>\n
  5. Have a Sense of Wonder:\u00a0 Don’t be a spiritual “legalist”\u00a0 attempting to neatly box and catalog the works of the Holy Spirit.\u00a0 “His ways are not our ways.”\u00a0 The Surging Spirit is changing people and changing our world.\u00a0 These are incredible times.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.<\/p>\n
