I was hungry<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and you formed a humanities club<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and you discussed my hunger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was imprisoned<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and you crept off quietly<\/p>\n\n\n\n

to your chapel in the cellar<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and prayed for my release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was naked <\/p>\n\n\n\n

and in your mind you debated the morality of my appearance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was sick<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and you knelt and thanked God<\/p>\n\n\n\n

for your health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was homeless<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and you preached to me<\/p>\n\n\n\n

of the spiritual shelter of the love of God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was lonely<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and you left me alone to pray for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You seem so holy;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

so close to God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But I’m still very hungry<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and lonely<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and cold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So where have your prayers gone?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What have they done?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What does it profit a man to page through his book of prayers when the rest of the world is crying for help?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
