 <\/p>\n

Prodigal:\u00a0 We are great!\u00a0 We are about to go fishing on this wonderful day at the beach.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Me:\u00a0 I hope you catch something!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Prodigal:\u00a0 Me too!\u00a0 I would like to hear a story though before we leave.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Me:\u00a0 Of course, todays story comes from God’s Little Devotional Book for Women.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

For weeks, eight-year-old Susie had been looking forward to a particular Saturday fishing trip with her dad.\u00a0 But when the day finally arrived, it was raining heavily.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Susie wandered around the house all morning, grumbling as she peered out the windows, “Seems like the Lord would know it would have been better to have the rain yesterday than today.”\u00a0 Her father tried to explain how important the rain was to the farmers and gardeners.\u00a0 But Susie only replied, “It just isn’t fair.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Around three o’clock, the rain stopped.\u00a0 There was still time for fishing, so father and daughter quickly loaded their gear and headed for the lake.\u00a0 Because of the rainstorm, the fish were really biting.\u00a0 Within a couple of hours, they returned with a full stringer of fish.<\/strong><\/p>\n

At the family’s “fish dinner” that night.\u00a0 Susie was asked to say grace.\u00a0 She concluded her prayer by saying, “And, Lord, if I sounded grumpy earlier today, it was because I couldn’t see far enough ahead.<\/strong><\/p>\n

When we seek God’s advice in our lives, it is important to realize He alone can see what is coming!<\/strong><\/p>\n

I can hear you.\u00a0 You have been grumbling today.\u00a0 It is raining and you just don’t want it to rain today.\u00a0 NOT TODAY!\u00a0 Maybe tomorrow, maybe next Thursday, but not today.\u00a0 The rain is for a purpose.\u00a0 You can’t see ahead to how the Lord will bring a stringer of fish for you.\u00a0 So maybe, just maybe.\u00a0 Even though you don’t feel like it.\u00a0 Praise God for the rain, then wait expectantly for the sun to shine!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Humble yourself therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time 1 Peter 5:6<\/p>\n
