{"id":7501,"date":"2020-09-10T06:46:30","date_gmt":"2020-09-10T10:46:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.theprodigalpig.com\/?p=7501"},"modified":"2020-09-09T14:10:22","modified_gmt":"2020-09-09T18:10:22","slug":"goodnight","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.theprodigalpig.com\/?p=7501","title":{"rendered":"Goodnight"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.theprodigalpig.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/20191012_130507-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6823\" width=\"458\" height=\"610\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.theprodigalpig.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/20191012_130507-768x1024.jpg 768w, http:\/\/www.theprodigalpig.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/20191012_130507-225x300.jpg 225w, http:\/\/www.theprodigalpig.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/20191012_130507-1152x1536.jpg 1152w, http:\/\/www.theprodigalpig.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/20191012_130507-1536x2048.jpg 1536w, http:\/\/www.theprodigalpig.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/20191012_130507-scaled.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 458px) 100vw, 458px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Me:  Brady has it been a long day?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prodigal:  Yes, and I think it is time for bed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Me:  I have a story for bedtime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prodigal:  We are ready for the story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was&nbsp;getting&nbsp;late;&nbsp;I was ending a phone call with my brother.&nbsp; His sons were about to go to sleep so we paused our conversation to say goodnight.&nbsp;&nbsp;I repeated a dear phrase we had said in our family at many bed time hours.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cGood night, sleep tight,&nbsp;don\u2019t&nbsp;let the bed bugs bite.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Brady, my nephew immediately said.&nbsp; \u201cI am going to punch those&nbsp;bugs;&nbsp;they are not getting me.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Just to clarify.&nbsp; There are no bugs at all in his home.&nbsp; He doesn\u2019t know what a bed bug is.&nbsp; He doesn\u2019t even have to worry about bugs in his home.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So,&nbsp;I thought this child has no fear.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Matthew 18:2-4&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He called a little child to him, and placed the&nbsp;child among&nbsp;them.&nbsp; And he said: \u201cTruly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.&nbsp; Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Maybe, I could learn a lesson from this child?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Brady has not&nbsp;experienced&nbsp;any&nbsp;harm during sleep&nbsp;from&nbsp;any bugs.&nbsp; It was an experience that he has never known.&nbsp; When presented with an experience he has never known,&nbsp;he decided to fight and not have fear.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&nbsp;cannot&nbsp;prepare for every unknown.&nbsp; Life means that&nbsp;situations&nbsp;will happen to me that I have not experienced.&nbsp; God will allow our paths to not always be smooth.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Can I answer those time, when life gives me an unknown, as a child?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If I do answer like Brady, I know what my response should be.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I am not going to let this get me down.&nbsp; I am going to punch Satan.&nbsp; He is not getting me.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No fear, no retreat and knowing I am protected.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&nbsp;kinda&nbsp;like that response.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is a spiritual night now.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;What is my response?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I am not going to let this get me down.&nbsp; I am going to punch Satan.&nbsp; He is not getting me.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Goodnight, till spiritual morning comes.&nbsp; That will be my words to you.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Romans 2:21-23<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">you then who teach others, do you not teach yourself?  While you preach against stealing, do you steal?  You who say that one must not commit adultery, do you commit adultery?  You who abhor idols, do you rob temples?
