Prodigal:\u00a0 Yes, I love being outside so I am comfortable in my chair with my thoughts.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Me:\u00a0 As we sit here and enjoy our day, I have a short story from God’s Little Devotional Book for Women.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Bernard Gilpin was accused of heresy before Bishop Bonner, and shortly thereafter was sent to London for trail.\u00a0 Gilpin’s favorite saying was, “All things are for the best.”\u00a0 He set out on his journey with that attitude, but on his way fell from his horse and broke his leg.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Is all for the best now?”\u00a0 a scorner said mocking Gilpin for his optimism.\u00a0 “I still believe so,” he replied.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He turned out to be right.\u00a0 During the time he was convalescing from the accident, and before he was able to resume his journey, Queen Mary died.\u00a0 Consequently, the case against him was dropped.\u00a0 Instead of being burned at the stake, Gilpin returned home in triumph.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We tend to see all accidents and illness that come our way as misfortune caused by the enemy of our souls.\u00a0 That may not always be the case.\u00a0 Rather than spend our energy railing against bad times, perhaps we should direct our effort toward praising the One Who promises to work all things together for the good of those who are called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28)<\/strong><\/p>\n

God does have a plan.\u00a0 We are in the middle of it.\u00a0 How is it going to make sense?\u00a0 Well I don’t have the answer to that right now.\u00a0 What I do know is that he can block anyone who is trying to do us harm and stop us from completing Gods task.\u00a0 Hold on to that right now.<\/p>\n

Rejoice evermore. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.<\/p>\n
