Prodigal: Help, Help!!<\/p>\n

Me:\u00a0 What have you done?<\/p>\n

Prodigal:\u00a0 I thought I could do it without asking for help.\u00a0 I thought I knew how to make it through.<\/p>\n

Me:\u00a0 So Pride got you stuck, Prodigal?<\/p>\n

Prodigal:\u00a0 I guess you could say that.<\/p>\n

Rachel Sinclair in her book Above Average for God talks about ways we may be humbled.<\/p>\n
As followers of Christ, we are called to live a surrendered life.\u00a0 Surrendering your life to God is about humbling yourself before God and allowing Him access to every part of who you are.\u00a0 As Christians, we will be humbled before God.\u00a0 However, we have a choice, We can choose to humble ourselves privately, or God will step in to do it for us publicly.<\/strong><\/p>\n The process of being humbled by God is painful and uncomfortable.\u00a0 In fact, I believe the more you resist God’s humbling, the more painful it is.\u00a0 Scripture tells us that throughout our lives, He will humble us as He wants to enable us to live by the Spirit rather than the desires of the flesh (Galatians 5:16).\u00a0 In the midst of being humbled, you may feel you are crashing to your knees or that your world is caving in on you.\u00a0 Once you are through the fire, you can see that God stripped you of your fleshy ways only to build you back up into a new person with more Christian like character.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The many ways I have been humbled.\u00a0 That means though God has really also changed me into a new person.\u00a0 He has added something new to who I am by humbling me.\u00a0 You have to keep going through it right now.\u00a0 This is the only way.\u00a0 Others have been on this path and have made it through.\u00a0 You can make it through too.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Galatians 5:1<\/p>\n For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Jennifer Van Allen<\/p>\n <\/p>\n www.theprodigalpig.com<\/p>\n www.faithincounseling.org<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Prodigal: Help, Help!!
