O Lord God, Who inhabitest eternity,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The heavens declare thy glory,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The earth thy riches,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The universe is thy temple;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thy presence fills immensity,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yet thou hast of thy pleasure created life,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and communicated happiness;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thou hast made me what I am,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and given me what I have;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In thee I live and move and have my being;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thy providence has set the bounds of my habitation,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and wisely administers of all my affairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I thank thee for they riches to me in Jesus,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

for the unclouded revelation of him in thy Word,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

where I behold his person, character, grace, glory,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

humiliation, sufferings, death and resurrection;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Give me to feel a need of His continual saviourhood,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and cry with Job, “I am vile,”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

with Peter, “I perish,”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

with the publican, “Be merciful to me, a sinner.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Subdue in me the love of sin,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let me know the need of renovation as well as of forgiveness<\/p>\n\n\n\n

in order to serve and enjoy thee for ever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I come to thee in the all-prevailing name of Jesus,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

with nothing of my own to plead,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

no works, no worthiness, no promises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am often straying,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

often knowingly opposing thy authority,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

often abusing thy goodness;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Much of my guilt arises from my religious privileges,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

my low estimation of them,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

my failure to use them to my advantage,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But I am not careless of thy favor regardless of thy glory;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Impress me deeply with a sense of thine omnipresence,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

that thou art about my path, my ways, my lying down, my end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us. Ecclesiastes 1:10 (KJV)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
