{"id":9760,"date":"2025-09-12T05:17:00","date_gmt":"2025-09-12T09:17:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.theprodigalpig.com\/?p=9760"},"modified":"2025-09-07T08:26:59","modified_gmt":"2025-09-07T12:26:59","slug":"the-loom-of-time","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.theprodigalpig.com\/?p=9760","title":{"rendered":"The Loom of Time"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.theprodigalpig.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/20190705_144101-e1568729708293.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.theprodigalpig.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/20190705_144101-e1568729708293-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6288\" width=\"488\" height=\"650\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.theprodigalpig.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/20190705_144101-e1568729708293-768x1024.jpg 768w, http:\/\/www.theprodigalpig.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/20190705_144101-e1568729708293-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 488px) 100vw, 488px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prodigal:  I like the pattern that you have started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Me:  I think it will turn out to be great!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is from Author Unknown<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Man&#8217;s life is laid in the loom of time<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To pattern he does not see,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While the weavers work and the shuttles fly<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Till the dawn of eternity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some shuttles are filled with silver threads<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And some with threads of gold,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While often but the darker hues<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Are all that they may hold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But the weaver watches with skillful eye<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each shuttle fly to and fro,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And sees the pattern so deftly wrought<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As the loom moves sure and slow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">God surely planned the pattern:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each thread, the dark and fair,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Is chosen by His master skill<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And placed in the web with care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He knows only its beauty,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And guides the shuttles which hold<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The threads so unattractive,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As well as the threads of gold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not till each loom is silent,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And the shuttles cease to fly,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Shall God reveal the pattern<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And explain the reason why.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The dark threads were as needful<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the weaver&#8217;s skillful hand<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As the threads of gold and silver<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the pattern which He planned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me.
