Want To Please

Me:  Howdy Prodigal!  Do you like that sign?

Prodigal:  I have seen this is someone’s house before and was just wondering what it meant?

Me:  Good question but I think it means different things to different people.

I will share from the Rachel Sinclair and her book Above Average For God

Overtime, as I became an adult and began to study God’s Word, the Lord softened my heart.  As I learned more of who He truly is and the exceptional life He desires for us to live, I began to understand that obedience is an attitude we choose more so than an action we do.  This attitude is cultivated from trust.  The more I know the Lord, the more I trust Him and want to please Him.  Before, my motivation to obey Him is an expression of my love and reverence for Him, which is a result of my trust in Him.

There was a time that I obeyed God to please others, than I obeyed God out of fear and now I am moving toward obeying God out of love and trust.

See God’s plans for me are amazing!  They never happen in my time table and guess what my life isn’t perfect but even in the hard times he is teaching me something so it seems I am always gaining from God.  Only a life following God can say that in all times joy can be found.  So as for me and my house, We WILL SERVE the LORD!

Joshua 1:7

Only be strong and very courageous, being careful to do according to all the law that Moses my servant commanded you.  Do not turn from it to the right hand or the left, that you may have good success wherever you go.
