Prodigal:  It looks like we have to go another way?

 

Me:  You know God does that to us sometime.  He tells us to go another way.

 

Prodigal:  I never thought of it like that.

 

Me:  Yeah, sometimes we have to go another way because the way we are on is about pride.  Let me share with you about pride.

 

Prodigal:  Sounds good to me!

Pride is one of the biggest roadblocks to prayer.  When we begin to think we can do things ourselves- when we want to be independent and put ourselves first–we don’t live a lifestyle of surrender to our Lord.  And when we think we can handle things ourselves, we begin to stop relying on God and seeking Him in prayer.

 

The way you think is right is going to focus on Pride.  That is why God stopped it.  He wants you to take another road.  Seek Him in prayer and he will slowly show you the way.

 

Micah 6:8

And what does the Lord require of you?  To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
