Me: As we walk we can talk about God and how He wants to direct our lives.
Prodigal: I know we can easily become distracted by what the world is telling us.
Me: I can share from the book that I am reading.
The book is Great Women of the Christian Faith by Edith Deen
This quote coms from Catherine Booth. She and her husband started the Salvation Army.
It was no easy task for Catherine Booth to rear her family of eight children as they went from place to place in their self-sacrificing service. She who was so home-loving had to spend her time traveling much of her life. But she never neglected her children’s Christian welfare. She counseled them, watched with wisdom over their spiritual development, education and courtships, and taught them that it is not so much what one does as how much one loves, for love, she said, is the fulfilling of the law.
Is judging fulfilling the law? I think judging fuels our pride and that is where we would like to go first. God has wisdom beyond us and that is why he is telling us to turn to love.
Amos 3:7
Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.
